Over 13 people were rescued in Lagos building collapse

Over 13 people were rescued alive after a four-storey building collapsed in Lagos Island, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has said. According to a statement by the General Manager, LASEMA, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu, the incident occurred at about 2.43 pm on Tuesday at number 3, Massey Street. A joint recovery operation is reportedly ongoing by LASEMA Response Unit, the National Emergency Management Agency, the Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Lagos State Fire Service. “Others include the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Red Cross and the police. “Heavy duty equipment presently searching through the rubble,” Tiamiyu added.
